Botanical Baking with Juliet Sear

Botanical Baking | Contemporary baking and cake decorating with Edible Flowers and Herbs

A brilliant night had by all to celebrate the launch of Botanical Baking by Juliet Sear. The night included gin jellies, edible flowers and cakes galore, plus a flower arch of dream by Wild Wood London. To finish all her guests received a special ‘snazzy’ Botanical Baking goody bags. Full of fabulous items donated by the wonderful suppliers that sponsored the book and a signed copy of the book by Juliet Sear herself!

What the author had to say

“Learn how to perfect the prettiest trend in cake decorating – using edible flowers and herbs to decorate your cakes and bakes – with this impossibly beautiful guide. Learn what flowers are edible and great for flavour, how to use, preserve, store and apply them including pressing, drying and crystallising flowers and petals. Follow the recipes step-by-step as I create around 20 beautiful botanical cakes that showcase edible flowers and herbs, including more top trends such as a confetti cake, a wreath cake, a gin and tonic cake, floral chocolate bark, a naked cake, a jelly cake, a letter cake and more.”

“Im lucky enough to have a couple of fantastic growers who supply me with edible flowers, working with the team at Nurtured in Norfolk.” – Juliet Sear

What we thought

A beautiful and gorgeous cookery book for bakers fascinated by the use of edible flowers and herbs. There are so many wonderful listed flowers to choose from, with lots of different ways to explore them including, preserving flowers for use of out of season, crystallising, dried and pressing.

“What I really love about edible flowers is that even the most novice baker can create stunning ‘wedding-worthy’ designs by creatively placing or decorating with edible flowers”

With many modern designs within the book, it’s made to really inspire the reader. Full of lovely imagery, helpful instructions, clear hints and tips. A great book with practical advice and to start understanding how to use edible flowers in your everyday baking.

A 5 star book in our opinion and a must have!
