Lee Ladislav Poustevnik

The winner of the Te Mana Lamb competition 2019 (UK), 35 year old, Lee Ladislav Poustevnik is an inspiring and innovative chef from the Czech Republic. Familiar with Italian, French, mid European and Japanese cuisines, Lee likes to present traditional recipes in a modern way with different techniques.

Lee Ladislav Poustevnik was born in Czech Republic, studied culinary and economics in Prague, while working at a fine dining restaurant. Soon after gaining his experience, Lee moved to the West Midlands – Birmingham, where he started working for various fine dining restaurants and hotels at 2AA rosette level. However, when the opportunity arose, Lee moved to the South West – Dorset – Bournemouth. Working for renown FJB hotels group, Rick Stein at Sandbanks and finally at Beales Gourmet. He started his journey at Beales as a Sous Chef before becoming Head Chef, a status he has held for the last three years.

Beales Gourmet is an Award-Winning Catering & Event Management Company located at The Italian Villa. Lee has a number of awards under his belt since working at Beales, including `Best Caterer – National 2019`, `Best Caterer – South West 2018` and `Dorset best Wedding supplier 2018`.

His ambition is to create innovative food as well as to keep using traditional recipes with a twist. Lee has a taste for many different cuisines but likes to incorporate Asian, Italian and French flavours into English food.

Speaking of Nurtured in Norfolk, Lee says it’s “Great produce. Nurtured in Norfolk has such a truly beautiful array of produce. High quality and mainly full of flavour!”
