Chive flowers

Chive flowers

Taste: Chive flowers have a mild onion flavour and are surprisingly crunchy.

Uses: Use chive flowers in salads or float on top of soups to add a slight onion quality without being pungent. Use the chive flowers in savoury pancakes and raw herbal sauces such as pesto, salsa or chimichurri. Scallion blossoms compliment, potato, eggs, cream, ginger, lime, parsley and thyme. For garnish and cooking break the flower into individual florets.

Health Benefits: Chive Flowers have naturally occurring antibiotic properties and have been used to aid in digestion, fight off colds and boost the immune system.
