Lemon Balm, Bunched

Lemon Balm, Bunched

Buy fresh Lemon Balm bunched herbs from our farm in Norfolk. Let your ideas become your favourite creations and tag us in your images so we know you have stopped by. Did you know? The Latin name for Lemon Balm Herb is Melissa Officinalis.

Taste: When simply touched, pressed or bruised they releases an intense lemon fragrance. Fresh leaves reveal a sweet lemon zest taste with a hint of mint, and a subtle sweet undertone. Dried Lemon Balm similarly holds all these flavours.

Uses: Commonly used to infused oils, teas, syrups and sauces. It may be prepared fresh, or dried and crushed for rubs and dry seasoning. Pair the strong flavour with more mild tastes such as seafood, honey, citrus, summer squash and cucumber. Also, it works as a substitute for lemon peel in sauces and soup recipes. Our favourite is adding this herb to sugar cookies to produce a beautiful lemony biscuit. Although it's most common use is in herbal teas.
