Shiso micro cress is most often used in Northeast Asian cooking and is commonly paired with fish. The micro cress cannot withstand high heats, so it’s best used as a fresh garnish. Micro Shiso cress adds a crisp texture to a range of savoury dishes. If using in Asian cuisine, this micro herb is great for sprinkling on top of soups, noodle dishes, stir fries, vegetables sides and seafood. Although it’s most commonly used in Asian cuisine, Shiso compliments various other flavours and dishes too. The subtle flavour of the Shiso cress can dress seafood platters, pasta, risotto and roasted meats. Furthermore, it pairs well with lemongrass, ginger, garlic and chilli. As well as poultry, pork, apples, plums, mushrooms and sesame.

Taste: Shiso micro cress leaves are soft, crisp, succulent and tender. These have a delicate purple and green colouring. The leaves are earthy and spicy with herbal and sweet flavours. The flavours and aromas of the micro herb are reminiscent to that of cinnamon and sage.
