The Ship Inn’s Visit to Nurtured in Norfolk
November 20, 2018
At Nurtured in Norfolk we are always keen to invite chef’s down to visit our nurseries, where they get a ‘taste tour’ of our produce. It was an honour to have the team from The Ship Inn, Walsham and Ben from Barsby visit us here at Nurtured in Norfolk yesterday.
Its always great to share our passion in the culinary world, show them how we grow, and also hear how our ingredients are used in their dishes with a combination of different elements. Its such a brilliant feeling when the visitors are overwhelmed by our range of produce, as well as the unique taste, textures and versatility of our products.
Since The Ship’s last visit to Nurtured, we have changed a lot, from growth in staffing and produce, to expanding in acres with our nurseries and warehouses, we were certainly excited to show them all how much we have grown as a company in such a short space of time. Our visitors seemed overwhelmed by the size of our site and Mason couldn’t believe how much the nursery had expanded. While we took the them for a guided tour, their enthusiasm grew and the tasting began!
Just some of the produce they were most amazed by was our Wasabi leaf, enjoying the unique but surprisingly mild and sweet flavour, our citrus flavoured sage flowers, and they even tricked our Head Grower, Martyn into eating a whole Buzz Button, whoops! The four visited our nursery to try some new flavours and textures for new experimental dishes.
Thank you for coming to visit us all here at Nurtured in Norfolk, we wish you all the best of luck for the Christmas period and we will see you in the near future to try some of your original dishes!
