Our Dried Cornflowers hold their dark blue colour which make for wonderful baking decorations. Dried edible flowers have a variety of uses, thanks to their mild flavours and delicate petals. For culinary preparations, the edible flower petals can be pulled from the flower and used as ‘confetti’. This can be sprinkled atop salads, grazing platters, cakes and desserts. Dried Cornflowers can also be used whole to garnish larger dishes and to toss through salads. Commonly, these vibrant and delicate flowers are used as cake toppers and decoration. The dried Cornflower can be mixed through soft cheese, or steeped to create a hot tea.

Taste: Cornflower edible flowers Latin name is Centaurea Cyanus and they possess a mild peppery clove aroma, with a mild sweet spice flavour. In dried edible flowers their flavour is milder than their fresh counterpart. Meaning you can be assured that using dried flowers as a decoration won't alter the flavour of your bake.
