Orchid edible flowers can be used for a variety of culinary preparations. In many Asian countries, they have been used in stir fries, sauces, or boiled for tea. They have also been dipped in batter and deep fried. In Hawaii, Orchids are popularly used in salad dishes. They have also been sugar coated and eaten as sweet treats. Although, most commonly, Orchids can be used to garnish cakes and desserts. If using as a garnish for sweet dishes, Orchids can be gently placed atop cakes and desserts. From large celebration cakes, to small individual cupcakes, Orchids will always add a striking touch. Moreover, they can be used to decorate fruit platters, as well as cheese boards. In addition, if you prefer garnishing drinks with edible flowers, Orchids work perfectly well for this! Simply place an Orchid flower or two atop tropical drinks.

Taste: Orchidaceae is the Latin name for Orchid flowers. Orchids have a crisp texture and flavour, with an aromatic scent. The flavour can vary from subtly sweet and grass-like, to spicy vanilla. Although, some have noted the flavours of Orchids to be a cross between cucumber and endive.
