Like almost all of our edible flowers at Nurtured in Norfolk, Oxford Blue flowers work beautifully scattered as a garnish on cakes. Subsequently, the fresh flowers can be added to savoury dishes to garnish and create an appeal to the eye. These beautiful fresh flowers have a deep colour spectrum in hues of blue and pink, making them a showstopper must have in all culinary preparations. As well as regular sponge cakes, Oxford Blue can also be placed atop cheesecakes, ice cream or mousses. They have a sweet aroma that also works when used to garnish lemonade or a variety of summer drinks. More commonly, these flowers have been added to jellies and jams as an ingredient over decoration. Although great on sweet treats, Sage flowers can also be used to garnish a range of different grazing platters adding an elegant flare.

Taste: Our Oxford Blue edible flowers are either used fresh or dried by a range of cooks and bakers. The flavour is best described as sweet and bitter, with a mild aftertaste of citrus and mint.
