Taste: Our Oxford blue edible flowers are either used fresh or dried by a range of cooks and bakers. It's flavour is best described as sweet and bitter, with a mild aftertaste of citrus and mint.

Uses: Like almost all of our edible flowers at Nurtured in Norfolk, pressed flowers work beautifully scattered as a garnish on cakes. Subsequently, as a baking decoration, pressed flowers can be added to create a bespoke look on any cake. These edible flowers have a deep colour spectrum in hues of blue and pink, making them a showstopper must have on all culinary preparations. As well as regular sponge cakes, Oxford Blue can also be placed atop cheesecakes, ice cream or mousses. They have a sweet aroma that also works when used to garnish lemonade or a variety of summer drinks. More commonly, Oxford Blue pressed edible flowers have been added to jellies and jams as an ingredient over decoration. Although great on sweet treats, pressed Sage flowers can also be used to garnish a range of different grazing platters adding an elegant flare.
