These edible flowers are best suited for savoury dishes, but can complement some sweet flavours as well. This edible flower is intended for raw preparations, specifically as a garnish, to add a punch of colour. Often, Amaranth edible flowers are used on larger celebration cakes, with a selection of other edible flowers. Including flowers such as roses, violas, pansies and more. They are the showstopper piece when in use alongside these other edible flowers due to their size and colour. For instance, in an arrangement the Amaranth works well when pressed into and wrapped around buttercream cakes. The seeds of the flower can also be dried. Gardener’s Path suggests once the seeds are dried, these can be cooked and eaten like porridge, or ground into flour.
