Pressed Sweet Cicely edible leaves can be a replacement for refined sugars, due to their sweet leaves. This makes it perfect for stewing with tart fruits such as gooseberries, rhubarb and blackcurrants. In addition, why not try and use their sweetness to make your own ‘Schnapps’ but combine the Sweet Cicely edible leaves with Vodka. Although sweet in flavour, they do also work well in savoury preparations, such as salads, stir fries, soups and omelettes. These pressed leaves are best used on celebratory cakes, tray bakes and cupcakes. However, they can also be used as a garnish on savoury appetisers and cocktails. Taste: Pressed Sweet Cicely is a herb that has a vague anise-like aroma and mildly sweet anise taste. It retains this aroma even when pressed. However, our pressed edible leaf range will always have a weaker taste than their fresh counterpart.
