Baby Watercress is best suited on savoury dishes as a fresh edible garnish. It can be used on canapés, although if that’s what you have in mind, our micro Watercress might be a better option for your dainty canapés. This micro herb works well in sandwiches, or to top savoury breakfast dishes such as avocado toast and scrambled eggs. In addition, use this microgreen to create dinner dishes such as fish pie or soup. This microgreen works well with game meats, hams and prosciutto. It also compliments ingredients such as parmesan, mozzarella and balsamic vinegar. Baby Watercress can be tossed with other leaves such as Rocket to make a spicy and flavourful side salad.

Taste: Baby Watercress is also known by the name Nasturtium Officinale. This may help to explain its peppery flavour. The flavour of the Baby Cress leaf is very similar to that of horseradish. The stalks are crisp and the baby leaves have a clean and sharp burn on the palate. However, this soon disappears and leaves notes of citrus and fresh grass.
