The delicate sweetness of Alyssum makes them a great garnish. They are most commonly used to decorate sweet dishes and bakes, but do also work well on savoury courses. Why not try tossing these edible flowers through salads or drop on top of summer soups. For sweet dishes, these flowers pair well with fruit salads. They can also be used as a delicate garnish on a variety of smaller bakes and pastries. For example, these dainty flowers can be gently pressed into buttercream cupcakes. That’s not all though, they can also be used alongside other edible flowers to create beautiful flower arrangements on your bakes. They are also effective if dropped as ‘confetti’ on bigger bakes and dishes. Just like our more vibrant edible flowers, Sweet Alyssum can also be frozen into ice cubes for use in cocktails and other beverages.

Taste: Sweet Alyssum flower has a pungent flavour, that gives a honey-like fragrance. Alyssum edible flowers are very small blooms which grow in clusters.
