Chop Suey micro cress, also known as Shungiku is the edible microgreen of Chrysanthemum. It is very popular throughout the Asian cuisine. The crisp and tasty microgreen of this annual micro herb can be used to flavour and garnish stews, casseroles, omelettes, soups, stir-fries, and hotpots. They can be stir-fried, parboiled, steamed and sautéed. To keep its pungent flavour profile and high nutritional value, our micro herb range is best used raw. In addition, the sprouts are traditionally served atop of dishes to retain their crisp, succulent consistency and are a favoured edible garnish in the kitchen. Their flavour pairs well with ingredients such as tahini, mirin, soy sauce, dashi, lemon, garlic as well as other leafy greens.

Taste: A member of the Chrysanthemum family, this micro herb has bright green edible leaves and packs a tasty aromatic punch. Chop Suey micro cress has a flavour that is similar to parsley, with fresh, grassy and umami notes. It has also been said to have a slightly bitter after bite.
