Dried Lavender edible flowers are often used as a herb, try adding this dried purple flower to sweet and savoury dishes to enhance the flavour. Use Lavender edible flowers to garnish cocktails, sorbets or salads. You could even add dried edible flowers to shortbread for a twist on the traditional recipe. Dried flowers are a great addition when crushed or chopped for marinades, buttercream and sauces. Infuse vegetable stock with lavender to create a tasty sauce for duck, chicken or lamb. In addition, you could try them steeped in a hot tea. As a rule, Lavendula can be used very similarly to fresh bunched rosemary, in many recipes like meat seasoning and hot baked breads.

Taste: Lavender edible flowers are part of the mint family and are also known as English Lavendula. This edible flower has a sweet, floral and citrusy scent and is said by Specialty Produce to have hints of balsamic. The flowers fragrance is best released when the plant is crushed or brushed against.
