Oregano edible flowers are most commonly enjoyed as a garnish for savoury dishes and canapés. This herb either bunched, dried or in bloom, pairs well with cured olives, sheep’s milk cheeses, tomatoes, pork, lamb, potatoes, pasta and rice dishes. The flowers can be tossed through salads. Alternatively, like most of our edible flowers, the petals can be delicately pulled off the flowers. These can then be combined with cream cheese or butter to add colour and subtle flavour. The flowers can also be placed on vegetable dishes and sides to add delicate detail. The edible flowers are very attractive and may also be enjoyed as garnishes on top of drinks. Impress your guests by using the flower to garnish dishes which already use the Origanum herb. Also, the flower works well in combination with Garlic, onion, thyme, basil, parsley, and olive oil.

Taste: The flavour of Oregano edible flowers is much more subtle than the Oregano herb. Although, it still possesses a pungent, slightly spicy, bitter flavour.
