Due to their vibrant colours and flavours Marigold edible flowers are best used as a garnish for sweet dishes. However, they can be used to garnish savoury dishes, salads and canapés. Tagetes are great for larger celebration cakes and tarts. Try garnishing cupcakes and tiered cakes with the whole Marigold flower. Their vibrant orange, yellow and deep red colours also work well with other edible flowers. For example, they work well when used alongside Tiny Tagetes, Dianthus’, Roses and Viola flowers. In addition, these flowers allow for great decorative edible arrangements on cakes. Just like lots of other edible flowers, Tiny Tagetes work well as a garnish for drinks too. The flower can be used whole, or the petals can be pulled off the stem and floated on top of drinks. If pulling the petals off the flowers, they can also be tossed through salad mixes to add vibrant colour.

Taste: Tagete (marigold) edible flowers have a refreshing citrus and lemony taste.
