Vietnamese Coriander (also known as Cilantro or Phak Phai) is most commonly used fresh and paired with seafood, duck and chicken. This aromatic herb is often used in Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia cuisines. Due to its strong aroma, Vietnamese Cilantro is used with curries, soups and noodle dishes. Alternatively, use the leaves as a substitute for mint or coriander within any recipe. It also pairs well with yoghurt, cheese, tropical fruit, tomatoes and fresh bunched herbs. In South East Asian cuisine, this herb is used to replace peppermint. Vietnamese Cilantro should be used in at least half the quantity you would for Bunched Coriander, since it’s a much stronger herb.

Taste: Vietnamese Coriander is a leafy bunched herb with the additional chestnut coloured streak. The taste of this herb is similar to fresh coriander, with a spicy flavour followed by a zesty taste. Also, it's often described as a 'hot mint' for its peppery and spicy qualities.
