Carnation flowers can be added whole, or the petals can be sprinkled over a variety of fresh and cooked dishes. In addition, separate the petals and use as a raw garnish to elevate cakes, salads and pies. The petals can also be pulled off the flower and used to toss through salads. Just like a salad garnish, the petals from the edible flower can also be used to dress savoury canapés and starters. Furthermore, add the edible flowers into cocktails, mocktails, sorbets or syrups. Carnation petals can also be lightly cooked and paired up with meats, spices and cheeses.

Taste: Carnations are a popular flower with a little spice, there is a hint of clove and nutmeg to its taste, with a more bitter flavour from the base. The colourful blooms have also best been described as sharp and sweet. The petals may also a release a faint ever green aroma.
