Taste: Thai Basil has distinctly different leaves compared to bunched Green Basil. Its leaves are longer with a pointed edge. These slender leaves have a faint vein running through them. The tender and pale green leaves are crisp and juicy, with strong flavours. They are aromatic and delicately sweet, with a spicy and peppery anise flavour.

Uses: Just like the other types of Basil, this bunched herb is best used as a raw garnish. Most commonly, they are used during the cooking process, to enhance the flavours of the dish. Due to it's trend to wilt in heat. They can be used to infuse flavour into broths, soups and Thai green curry. As well as savoury and Thai dishes, Thai Basil can also be used in cocktails and beverages. For example, the whole leaf clusters will add an aromatic garnish to an ice cold lemonade drink. In addition to savoury dishes and drinks, this aromatic herb can also be used in sweet applications. Try adding it to fruit salads or desserts made with tropical fruits like mango.
