Salad Burnet edible leaves are best suited when used raw in culinary preparations. Commonly used fresh, try adding to sandwiches or green and grain salads as an edible garnish. Use this cucumber-like edible leaf to infuse beverages such as lemonade or sparkling water. Specialty Produce suggests to chop the stems and leaves and use to flavour dips. Combine with fresh Basil and Oregano for a unique twist on a traditional salad dressing. Mix Salad Burnet with butter or cheeses for a savoury spread. And try tossing the leaves into a hot egg or potato dish, as a side. Use Salad Burnet as a substitute for Basil. So when the recipe calls for fresh Basil leaves, simply replace with Burnet edible leaves for a refreshing cucumber twist. Just like most bunched herbs, these edible leaves will last up to 5 days if kept sealed in the fridge.
